Attended Sarah Lawrence College, studying creative writing.

Bicycling for Peace
Bicycled across the country to promote disarmament with five friends.
1984-1989
First job - hooked on fundraising
Worked as fundraiser for Scattergood Friends School in Iowa. My first face to face solicitation ($100,000) got me hooked on fundraising. First capital campaign (for me and the school).
1989-2007
Fundraising Continued
More fundraising jobs at Pendle Hill (a Quaker retreat center in Pennsylvania), The Wilderness Society, and the ACLU, all focused on face to face cultivation and solicitation.
2002-2008
BA in English
Attended University of Maryland, one course at a time. BA with a major in English.

Consulting
Established Jump Start Growth, Inc. as a consulting firm focused on major gifts fundraising
2012
A Poet Again
Returned to writing poetry after a 25 year hiatus.

Certified as a coach by the International Coaching Federation.
